Pink + Terrazzo Bathroom
An independent bathroom design study exploring a playful mix of colour, texture and pattern, balanced with warm timber and soft metallic finishes.

THE DESIGN APPROACH
This bathroom study was an opportunity to explore something a little different, bringing together contrasting colours, textures and patterns to create a space with plenty of personality.
Soft pink tiles sit alongside bold terrazzo and warm timber cabinetry, while brushed nickel tapware and accessories introduce a softer finish that complements the curved vanity and overall palette.

Layout + Functionality
The layout was designed to feel spacious and comfortable, with an open shower area, corner bath and custom floating vanity with a curved end.
Practical details include a twin shower on rail, vertical heated towel rails and an undermount basin to keep the vanity streamlined and easy to clean. A recessed shaving cabinet provides additional storage without projecting into the room, helping maintain a clean, open feel.
This concept assumes a separate powder room is provided elsewhere in the home, allowing the bathroom to focus on bathing, showering and everyday routines.

Materials + Finishes
The terrazzo was the starting point for this palette, with its mix of colours and textures bringing plenty of character to the space.
I initially explored darker feature tiles but found they made the bathroom feel too heavy, so I moved towards a softer pink that lightened the overall scheme and complemented the vanity benchtop.
A darker timber-look laminate adds warmth and depth to the cabinetry, while brushed nickel tapware and accessories provide a softer contrast to the more expressive finishes.
